Electro Optics is to improve still further its service to the industry worldwide, as a result of acquiring Optics and Laser Europe magazine from IOP Publishing in August 2010
'We are very pleased to be able to offer our own, distinctively high-quality service to the readers of Optics and Laser Europe and thus support the European and international communities in advancing photonics,' said Warren Clark, Director of the Photonics Division of Europa Science Ltd, the owners of Electro Optics. 'Optics and Laser Europe is, rightly, a highly respected publication and its incorporation into Electro Optics will allow us to take the lead in serving the international optics industry.'
In a progressive programme of growth in its circulation and frequency, Electro Optics will be published ten times a year from the beginning of 2011 and will circulate to registered readers of Optics and Laser Europe, in addition to its own highly-targeted loyal readership. It will also benefit from investment in editorial resource and improved digital and web facilities. In 2011, Electro Optics will celebrate 43 years of publishing and service to the photonics industry. Now truly global in its reach, it appears in print and digital magazine formats, e-newsletters, and a website that is updated daily.
EOnewsline is a monthly e-mailed newsletter that keeps thousands of photonics engineers in regular touch with breaking news and events in technology, research, and the business world as it affects photonics. It reaches more than 11,000 opt-in recipients every month.
Our website, www.electrooptics.com, is increasingly popular with visitor numbers climbing month by month. It carries web-exclusive material and is updated on a daily basis.
Electro Optics is a magazine, not an academic or research journal, meaning we publish feature articles and not research papers etc. Our general policy for feature articles is that they are all written in-house or by one of our regular freelance contributors, and we do not accept by-lined features from suppliers, PR companies and so on. Those seeking editorial coverage in a feature should consult the editorial features list (in our Media Pack) and contact the editor accordingly.
The editor regularly sends out an email a few weeks’ prior to editorial deadlines with more details of the features in an upcoming issue and how to get involved. If you would like to be included on the distribution of this email, please contact the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Relevant news and product press releases are welcomed and should be sent by email only to email@example.com, and to no other address. Any material submitted is included solely at the editor’s discretion, and may be edited for length and style. Our own editorial house style may differ from your own. For example, company and product names are published without trademark or copyright symbols, and with an initial capital letter and lower case thereafter.
Any images supplied are assumed to have no copyright restrictions and may be published without credit unless explicitly specified.
