Job Description
CIP Technologies, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Huawei, is developing advanced optoelectronic devices for the next generation of communications networks. CIP have a proven track record of innovation over many years, and are now looking to recruit the following role.
This interesting role forms part of our InP chip design R&D team. Using best techniques (optical, RF and electronic modelling) the role involves carrying out design work on III-V semiconductor optoelectronic devices (specifically Mach-Zehnder modulators) for delivery against project specifications. The successful candidate will work directly with technical operations staff developing epitaxy and fabrication processes to ensure that designs are manufacturable and made to the agreed specification.
Person Specification
The role requires a candidate who is able to carry out characterisation and analysis of final devices to gain appropriate data to ensure that the design meets the design specification and for process optimisation. As well as the ability to design devices the ideal candidate would also have experience of fabricating and testing III-V semiconductor devices, although this is not essential.
Skills/Qualifications
Essential
BSc in physics or a related physical science;
Record of publications in the technical field;
Recognised standing in the relevant technology community;
Knowledge of, and skilled in use of, design techniques and simulation tools.
Desirable
PhD in a relevant semiconductor/material or device design topic;
Experience in III-V semiconductor device fabrication and testing;
Project management skills.
