Job Description
CIP Technologies (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Huawei) is developing advanced optoelectronic devices for the next generation of communications networks. This interesting role will be part of the Hybrid Integration group. The group are developing optical components for integration into hybrid optical circuits based on planar lightwave circuits. The role will involve the development of packaging including alignment and fixing processes for the components in hybrid optical circuits. The successful candidate will be required to work with internal customers to translate their specifications into workable processes and to manage assigned design projects to deliver them to agreed specifications, cost and delivery times. As the job holder will be required to liaise with teams across the organisation excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
Person Specification
Skills/Qualifications
Essential
BSc in relevant physical science plus 3 years experience of silica based passive device fabrication;
Several years experience of semiconductor/glass process engineering and product manufacture;
Experience of developing packaged products
Experience of working directly with customers to turn requests into manufacturing processes;
Project management experience;
Experience of formal process design techniques – eg SPC, Kaizen.
Desirable
Experience of flame hydrolysis deposition (FHD) or PECVD systems for silica waveguide devices.
