Trumpf has announced that it has achieved its highest sales in its history and is expecting growth to increase slightly more for the coming fiscal year.
At the end of fiscal 2011, 2012 the company gained sales of €2.33 billion, achieving a 15 per cent increase compared to the previous year’s €2.02 billion. Profits also increased but only by 13.8 per cent, with income before taxes for 2011/12 reaching €211 million from the previous year’s €185 million.
‘Trumpf benefited from the fact that a lot of customers caught up on investments that had been postponed during the recession,' said the company’s president Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller. She added that Trumpf had been able to quickly adjust from recession to recovery, gaining market share worldwide in the process.
The company's largest regional markets in the past fiscal year were Germany, with sales growth of 14 per cent, the USA that saw a 23 per cent increase and China with its 9 per cent expansion. While China only had a 9 per cent increase in sales, production facilities have been expanded there. Overall the company created over 1,000 new jobs in the past fiscal year and more than half of them in Germany. The number of employees worldwide has now risen to 9,555.
