Admesy

Admesy has released its Brontes high speed, high precision colorimeter, which has been especially made for measuring colours and luminance in a production environment.  Colours are measured according to the human eye (CIE1931) and numerous colour spaces are supported.  Due to its small and compact size it can be integrated very easily in production environments and the user friendly interfacing makes it ideal for engineers to get a quick start in a laboratory environment. The colorimeter does 10,000 measurements per second, via a PC (also embedded) or stand alone. The Brontes is USBTMC standard compliant.

The Brontes can be used to measure chromaticity, flicker, contrast and luminance of all kind of products such as LCD displays (mobile phones, PDAs, monitors etc.), LEDs, plasma screens, liquids and plastics. The Brontes has the capability to measure luminance (Y) of up to 10k samples each second, colour (XYZ) can be measured up to 4k each second. This makes it an ideal solution for mass production where the time is of essence.

The Brontes has a large number of mounting methods, this makes it easy to get a stable setup which is a must to get accurate and repeatable measurement results in any situation (production and laboratory). On the bottom side it has 4 M4 holes and one ¼ BSW insert and on the front side it has 4 M4 holes.

The colorimeter is directly supported in Labview/Labwindows/Visual Studio via VISA library.  Several application notes are available of how to measure flicker (JEITA and Contrast method), contrast, chromaticity and how to do white point balancing with the Brontes. The following interfaces are available: USB/I2C/RS232/GPIO. Also a standalone mode is possible, the Brontes can be preprogrammed to make a GO-NOGO selection or a selection into different classes. This can be initiated by a trigger.
