Product Overview - Software

CODE V: Software for designing imaging systems, where you are trying to image a point (or plane wave) in object space to a point (or plane wave) in image space. This includes any application where you want to optimize for the best image. Typical performance metrics are MTF, point spread function, and spot size. There is also functionality for maximizing fiber coupling efficiency for telecommunication, and free-space beam propagation analysis for accurate evaluation of diffraction effects.

LightTools: Software for designing illumination systems, where you are trying to control the distribution of light and are typically not concerned with forming an image. This includes general lighting, display uniformity, and stray light applications. You can define detailed characteristics of the light source, and trace millions of rays to optimize any desired illumination pattern on a receiver.
