AMS Technologies (booth 203, hall B2) will present a diode-pumped solid-state laser that emits very short laser pulses (< 5ns) of high energy (up to 20µJ) with four wavelengths in the visible range. Using sophisticated technology, the Tetra laser can switch from pulse to pulse between these four wavelengths with a very high pulse repetition frequency of 2kHz and is thus 10 times faster than lasers based on OPOs (Optical Parametric Oscillators). With this ability to emit laser pulses in four biologically useful wavelengths in very fast sequence, Tetra is particularly suitable for multispectral photoacoustic imaging in biomedicine.
