Luxinar has added LXR 100, its first femtosecond laser, to its existing product portfolio of sealed CO2 laser sources. The ultrashort laser has improved materials processing. The extremely short pulse width of the laser virtually eliminates heat diffusion to the surroundings of the processed region, which minimises the formation of a heataffected zone (HAZ), enabling ultra-high precision micro- and nanofabrication of various components. The pulse width of LXR 100 is between 900 ± 100fs, with a pulse repetition frequency between single shot and 40MHz, and a maximum rated pulse energy of 100µJ. The flexible femtosecond product with a large dynamic range of average powers, pulse energies and pulse repetition frequencies enable process optimisation in a wide range of industries and applications.
