Thorlabs’ GL16 Fiber End Face Geometry Measurement Instrument will be on display at booth 1127. The system is easy-to-use for measuring and imaging the geometry of single- and multi-fibre connectors. It uses a non-contact scanning, white-light interferometric technique to provide high-accuracy, repeatability, and reliability for fibre connector testing, particularly for pass/fail testing using IEC or Telcordia requirements.

This wide-bandwidth white light interferometer is able to measure step height changes as large as 35µm, and is able to characterise undercut or protruded fibres that would be missed using a monochromatic interferometer. This integrated inspection system joins Thorlabs’ Vytran family of fibre processing equipment to create a full suite of fibre processing and inspection solutions for the factory floor.
