SPIE sets it sights on Wales

Wales has developed resources and networks ideal for enabling innovation in optoelectronics, Welsh First Minister and Assembly Member Rhodri Morgan told attendees at conferences on Remote Sensing and Security and Defence sponsored by SPIE Europe at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, last week.

GSI to spearhead £1.2m research project

GSI Group Laser Division will launch a £1.2m collaborative research and development project in partnership with the LPA Group at Heriot-Watt University, PowerPhotonic and Cranfield University, thanks to investment from the Technology Strategy Board.
