Gooch & Housego's OL 731 USB smart detector has featured in an episode of the Discovery Channel's Mythbusters. The segment entitled 'Let There Be Light,' which aired on 22 June, tested the theory of whether an underground chamber can be illuminated via light reflected off mirrors, as seen in a scene from the movie The Mummy. The OL 731 is a low-cost, hand-held radiometer/photometer that can be tailored to the spectral response of the user's specific application requirements with the use of a range of sensors and filters.
