Scribing patent increases international portfolio

New Wave Research is increasing its patent portfolio, which currently includes patents in China, Taiwan and the United States. It has recently received a patent from China for its scribing process. The patent, titled ‘Scribing Sapphire Substrates with a Solid State UV laser’, covers AccuScribe, a blue LED wafer-scribing product.

‘This new patent attests to New Wave Research's seriousness in defending its intellectual property on an international level,’ said Pei Hsien Fang, CEO of New Wave Research. However, he has also stated that New Wave Research encourages dialogue for licensing agreements of the AccuScribe technology.
