Edmund Industrial Optics is making significant new investments to expand its customer support presence in the Asian market, including the purchase of a substantial stake in Saito Optics of Japan.
Edmund Industrial Optics and Saito have a long history of partnerships, with Saito acting as a local manufacturer and supplying Edmund Industrial Optics with high-precision spherical optics, and a number of collaborations to develop new manufacturing technology. Edmund Industrial Optics management is now directing the Saito plant and has plans to make significant improvements to the technology, equipment and staffing during 2007.
