Photron Inc becomes industry partner of UCLA

Photron Inc, a manufacturer of high speed imaging systems and image analysis software, has been named as an industry partner by the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A signing ceremony took place during the CNSI Core Lab Open House event at UCLA on October 15, 2009.

The California NanoSystems Institute is a research center that encourages multidisciplinary collaborations for discoveries in nanoscience and nanotechnology. CNSI houses eight shared resource facilities which provide a wide array of advanced instrumentation to enable research conducted by faculty across UCLA. Photron, as an industry partner, has donated several high speed imaging systems for use in the Advanced Light Microscopy/Spectroscopy (ALMS) core lab at CNSI. The slow motion cameras and proprietary image analysis software will aid the research on optical imaging, single-cell study, and single-cell detection.
