Sepnet has been regrouped to support more than 200 companies and organisations that are active in photonics in the South East of England.
Sepnet is now also supported financially by the Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network and will be working in collaboration with the other Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs), as well as established photonics organisations in Scotland, Wales, the Midlands and the North East.
Sepnet aims to provide an interface to disseminate information on funding initiatives, be a mechanism for encouraging collaboration, especially with those in other industry sectors, be a contact point for incoming trade missions and to organise local, easily accessible, relevant meetings.
The group also aims to put in place a strategy board that will represent local photonics organisations and provide a coordinated voice to government to help maintain the international leadership of photonics organisations in the SE region.
