Trumpf opens laser factory in Connecticut

Trumpf has opened its Laser Innovation & Technical Excellence (LITE) Building in Connecticut, a research and manufacturing facility that will be used to develop new lasers and expand the company's production of laser resonators.

This high-tech facility will add 86,000 square feet to the existing Trumpf campus. The building will feature a new 55,200 square foot production hall and a 6,000 square foot, class 10,000 cleanroom designed for the manufacturing and testing of CO2 and solid-state laser resonators.

A laser research lab and laser development department will be dedicated to the creation of innovative laser products. The building will also house the company’s laser marking application and sales group and give the information technologies department a larger area for a server room. Approximately 120 employees will staff the new facility.
