Blue laser sensors for triangulation

Precision measurement specialist Micro-Epsilon UK has introduced a new range of blue laser sensors designed for use in laser triangulation. By using blue lasers, the sensors are able to perform measurements on hot, glowing metals, particularly in hot steel processing, as well as for measuring organic materials such as skin, foodstuffs, plastics, veneers and wood. The wavelength of the blue laser offers significant benefits: compared to a red laser, the 405nm blue laser light penetrates the measured object less. The blue laser sensors are equipped with new high-end optical lenses, a new intelligent laser control and evaluation algorithms. The sensor is suitable for red glowing metals up to 1,600°C, silicon to 1,150°C.
