Laser Quantum has announced its new Excel laser model, a CW 532nm laser that is capable of up to 2W while maintaining noise at <0.5 per cent RMS. The Excel is so small it fits in the palm of any user's hand. Its new smd12 power supply allows operation in power or current mode, with power stability of <0.4 per cent. The Excel’s design, its low requirements for temperature control and long warranty periods make it appropriate for scientific applications and integration into other instruments. Applications include PIV, ophthalmology and other microscopy.
