Fibercheck

Laser Components has introduced its Fibercheck device for testing the condition of optical fibres by simply coupling a good visible laser light into the fibre to be checked.

If the beam hits a damaged part within the fibre, most of the light is scattered out of the fibre into the surrounding cladding. In this way a broken fibre can easily be recognised. Additionally, if there are many fibres bundled together, the Fibercheck can quickly and easily be used to identify each fibre.

Thanks to the universal 2.5mm adapter all connectors with a Ø2.5mm ferrule can be connected to the Fibercheck. Also available is an extra adapter for connectors with a Ø1.25mm ferrule.
