Beacon Concepts and Brandenburg have announced release 1.9 of their LucidShape software with LucidFunGeo for lighting design and analysis. The companies state that LucidShape reduces product development time by 30-50 per cent providing for design, simulation and analysis of lighting and illumination products.
The latest release has many new features and improvements, such as in-core multithread simulation for Monte Carlo and light mapping, improved raytracing speed and accuracy, new surface tessellation algorithms, new menu structure, and new design feature for backlighting. In addition, an optimiser has been implemented based on a genetic algorithm.
