Edmund Optics (EO) has introduced its Techspec mid-wave IR achromatic lenses, for applications in MWIR thermal imaging, FTIR, spectroscopy, and for use with tuneable QCL lasers. These high performance lenses are ideal components for use by designers and researchers working in the 3-5µm spectral region.
The new lenses provide a small focused spot with more energy for higher resolution images or greater signal detection. This feature allows designers in industrial, medical, scientific and defence applications to use the full dynamic range and quantum efficiency in their mid-wave sensors.
Edmund Optics' versatile new doublets feature precision germanium and silicon lenses, which are expertly air-spaced and aligned within a sturdy anodised aluminium barrel. The lenses are colour-corrected and coated for maximum energy throughput over their full spectral range of 3-5µm. The lenses are available in four 30mm diameter versions with 40mm, 50mm, 60mm and 75mm focal lengths.
