Midaz Lasers has introduced a range of laser amplifier modules for amplification of CW and pulsed seed lasers, featuring extremely high gain at 1,064nm. Midaz claims that its technology is generic and that it could be used to amplify a variety of laser platforms (e.g. bulk or fibre).
Midaz amplifiers are capable of amplifying linearly polarised input seeds to more than 40W and maintain beam quality of the input even at high pump powers. Based on patented design, the amplifier technology enables compact packaging, which only requires air-cooling. The company also expects to deliver smaller, water-cooled units.
Product integration into laser systems will ultimately enable laser OEMs and systems integrators to use these modular units without need for complex additional equipment.
