Edmund Optics has introduced its Super Polished Mirror Substrates that can be coated for wide variety of laser applications.
The mirror substrates are available in both fused silica and zerodur. They feature surface roughness as low as 1Å, which gives them very low scatter - a requirement for any application that uses ultrafast lasers. The substrates offer a 1/10λ surface accuracy. When the substrates are manufactured, the super polishing is applied to the first surface of the substrate and a commercial polishing is applied to the second surface. The precision substrates are then ready to be coated to provide innovative solutions in ultrafast lasers and a diverse range of laser applications.
Super polished mirror substrates are available in 12.5mm and 25mm diameter sizes, in both fused silica and zerodur, with 1Å and 2Å surface roughness options in both sizes and materials.
