Spectra-Physics, a Newport company, introduces Talon 355-20, a high UV output power addition to its highly popular Talon family of Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. The new laser delivers >20 W UV power, wide-repetition-rate range of 0 to 500 kHz, and excellent beam profile and stability. With disruptive cost-performance, Talon 355-20 is ideal for manufacturing mobile device components such as PCBs, semiconductors, electronic components, and displays.
“The Talon series has transformed the market for UV lasers in 24/7 manufacturing with an unprecedented combination of proven reliability and disruptive cost-performance,” says Scott White, director of product marketing for Spectra-Physics. “Customers are delighted with the dependable performance of Talon in their production lines, and Talon 355-20 significantly furthers the capability of this compelling platform.”
Talon is available in >20, >15, >12 and >6 W UV and >20 W green versions. The laser’s “It’s in the Box™” design combines power supply and laser head into a single, common rugged package for simple system integration and facilitates straightforward switching between models to achieve specific end customer requirements. Talon has passed extensive environmental qualification testing, and each laser is subjected to rigorous production tests to ensure high reliability for operation in 24/7 applications and lowest cost of ownership.
