Trumpf has expanded its TruDiode Series with the introduction of diode lasers at output powers of 800, 1000, 2000 and 3000 Watts, for welding, brazing, hardening and heat treatment applications.
These industrial grade diode lasers possess a beam quality comparable to that of lamp-pumped lasers, even at high output power, at significantly lower operating costs; the company claims that in three-shift operation, the variable costs can be up to 95 per cent lower. The reason for this reduced cost relates back to the high wall-plug efficiency of diode lasers, which can be as high as 40 per cent. Likewise, the passively cooled diodes ensure a long life for the TruDiode beam sources. Thanks to their modular design, the diode lasers can be easily integrated into existing production systems.
