Messe Stuttgart and VDMA Machine Vision are organising a digital pitch competition for start-ups.

The event will be held on 11 November when the cancelled Vision show would have taken place. Young vision companies have until 28 October to apply.

Those eligible to participate must be legally independent companies with an innovative business model or visionary product development. They should be founded during the past six years, have a maximum of 20 employees and a maximum annual turnover of €5m. Participants will be selected by a jury of experts.

The winner, which will be decided by the audience, will be able to take part free of charge in the Start-Up World section of next year's Vision trade fair, when it is held 5 to 7 October 2021.

'Young companies bring additional dynamism to the sector precisely with their innovations: whether software in the field of artificial intelligence and deep learning, the latest camera technology or exciting vision systems,' commented Florian Niethammer, project manager for Vision.

'Anyone who has the confidence to take the machine vision industry to the next level with their business idea and potential should throw their hat in the ring,' said Anne Wendel, head of the specialist department of the VDMA Machine Vision sector group.

Presentations should be in English and interested start-ups can apply via: https://startup-pitch.vision-messe.com/.
