After his MSc in Photonics/Physics at the Institute d’Optique Graduate School in Paris, Florian Emaury’s career started with intern experiences at specialist laser companies Fianium (UK) and Coherent (CA, USA). 

He then spent five months as a patent engineer in France. These experiences taught Emaury that there were significant opportunities out there in the world for the right ultrafast laser technology, but that he would need first-class technical knowledge to exploit the potential to the maximum.
