Galan Moody

Galan Moody pioneers work at UCSB in quantum photonics, including the use of compound-semiconductor microring resonators and related planar circuits for high efficiency entangled photon generation.
His research group specialises in III-V and heterogeneous III-V-on-SiN photonics, enabling several key breakthroughs. These include the lowest-loss III-V photonic chips enabling record-bright entangled-photon pair generation, chip-scale frequency conversion with >60% efficiency, and record-high squeezed light sources in III-Vs.
