George Gordon

George Gordon, Associate Professor and UKRI Future Leaders Fellow, University of Nottingham
The core innovation of George Gordon’s work is the development of hair-thin, flexible imaging devices capable of performing advanced microscopy techniques for biomedical applications.
Traditionally, imaging devices for such purposes have been one of two extremes: either hair-thin, but limited to basic imaging; or large and bulky in order to accommodate more advanced imaging modalities. Prof Gordon’s approach overcomes these challenges through three key innovations: nanofabrication techniques, structured light illumination and physics-informed AI architecture.
