How big is the healthcare share of the global photonics market?

The worldwide photonics market was valued at $865bn (€820bn) in 2022 by the recent Photonics Market Study Report 2019-2022 issued by Photonics21 and Tematys. Of that total, the value of the healthcare segment amounts to $96.86bn, or just over 11% of the total global photonics market.
While a large proportion ($47.7bn) of that global total is in eyeglasses and contact lenses, biophotonics devices and systems account for the remaining $49.2bn.
