Joachim Horwath is Chief Technology Officer at the laser communication equipment manufacturer Mynaric, where he says his team is focused on creating “scalable, affordable, and industrialised free-space optical communications products to enable global connectivity for all people, machines and things on Earth".

Horwath says Mynaric’s main mission is to make optical communications scalable to meet the demands of both government and commercial customers.
