Oliver Heckl’s work is focused on optical metrology and sensing in the mid-IR spectral region.

Heckl is dedicated to improving mid-IR mirror coatings to achieve low optical losses and extending the capabilities of mid-IR supermirrors further into the mid-IR spectral region. 

He also works on developing low-noise mid-IR frequency combs and novel schemes for single-cavity dual-comb lasers based on fibre lasers.
