Codixx has appointed Elliot Scientific as a distributor of its dichroic glass polarisers for use in the ultraviolet, visible and infrared regions.

The colorPol range of polarisers are built on a unique technology - doping of sodium silicate glass with prolate silver nanoparticles - that allow for the production of customised products with an extraordinary flexibility that meets the demands for all spectral ranges, contrast conditions and designs.

Polarisers are used in a wide range of diverse optical devices to pass or stop polarised light, to modulate or reduce brightness, diminish noise and lots more. Due to their excellent properties and outstanding adaptability, colorPol polarisers are usable in many applications.

The colorPol range has the advantage that they are flat like foil polarisers, can be processed like glass or silicon wafers and have large acceptance angles. Standard dimensions range from 5 x 5mm2 up to 50 x 30mm2 and various thicknesses, from 0.2 to 2mm raw, or laminated onto carrier glass. Custom sizes, shapes and anti-reflection coatings are available on request. The performance of a custom-made polariser can be optimised to a customer's requirements by trading off transmittance and extinction ratio at a given wavelength.
