French optics maker Photline joins iXBlue group

Optical components manufacturer Photline has joined the iXBlue group, a n engineering multinational.

Founded more than ten years ago, Photline designs, develops and manufactures integrated optical components and products for scientific and industrial applications. Photline’s founders at the time were researchers at Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and University of Besançon, France. Before its acquisition, Photline was a supplier of optical components for iXBlue inertial navigation systems.

Photline will work with other iXBlue companies such as iXFiber and the new company will use iXBlue’s worldwide sales and support network. The iXBlue group employs 450 people, has an annual turnover of 80 million euros, of which 80 per cent is from export.
