Laser Components has expanded its range of optics and fibre optic production facilities, in order to provide improved delivery times and greater flexibility. New equipment includes additional polishing machines, and a new inspection and measurement microscope.
This high quality microscope makes it possible to perform a complete pre-delivery product inspection in terms of eccentricity measurement – fibre core to outer diameter – and documentation of the connector end facet.
New production technology has also made an impact; in fact, the first AR coatings of the polished connector end facets have produced excellent results. The company's strengths in fibre optics production are in assemblies for medical applications and for high-power transmission as well as series production up to 1,000 pieces.
