Lithuania's UAB Altechna buys majority stake in coatings firm Optida

Lithuanian manufacturer and distributor of laser optics, optoelectronics and laser components, UAB Altechna, has purchased the majority stake in optical coating company Optida.

Vilnius-based Altechna is seeking to extend manufacturing capabilities, to ensure the production of unique laser optical components with dielectric coatings within the company group. Optida, also a Lithuanian company, manufactures optical coatings and delivers services in optical technologies. The company is developing and manufacturing optical components for lasers, laser systems and optical devices.

As well as the take-over of Optida, Altechna is planning to design and develop new products and invest in its technical facilities. Altechna, which has 40 employees, has been operating in the laser industry since 1996.
