Japanese photonics corporation, Santec, has acquired JGR Optics and OptoTest Corp.
JGR Optics and OptoTest are providers of fibre optic test solutions for measuring insertion and return loss of cable assemblies and components, allowing an entry point into this market for Santec.
Both companies will become fully owned subsidiaries of Santec, while continuing to operate under their existing brands. The leadership at both JGR and OptoTest will stay with their respective businesses.
Santec Corporation has 42-years of experience in micro-optics, advanced optical devices, tuneable lasers, and optical test & measurement.
Mototaka Tei, chief executive officer of Santec Corp said: ‘We’re excited to enter the fibre testing market with the acquisitions of JGR Optics and OptoTest. Both companies have a proven track record of delivering high performance return loss, insertion loss and polarity measurement systems as well as optical switches to fibre optic cable assemblies and components productions. With this acquisition we widen our footprint in the growing market for fibre optics production equipment.’
