Avantes has released an improved halogen light source. The AvaLight-HAL-Mini has a new innovative design and the user can change the lightbulb easily. The output is extremely stable due to the design and cooling system. The light source is also much smaller than previous versions.
The AvaLight-HAL-Mini is a compact, stabilised halogen light source, with an adjustable fibre connection focus that maximises the output power at the desired wavelength. The light source also has selectable output power to provide extra power or longer bulb life.
A filter-slot mounted on the front of the AvaLight-HAL accepts 1-inch round or 2 x 2 inch square filters, to block specific ranges of wavelengths or lower the intensity. The adjustable focus ensures all possible power is transmitted through the optical fibre. Bulb replacement is easy and can be done in a matter of minutes. High power or long life output settings are selectable via the spectrometer or the software.
