Jenoptik is now offering a family of 532nm CW disk lasers, which will be sold in North America by RPMC Lasers. More than 10,000 of these lasers have been manufactured and are now in the field worldwide. The D2 series offers high stability with output powers from 2 to 8W and modulation capabilities from 20-50kHz. Drive electronics and fibre coupling options are also available for the lasers.
The lasers have been used in the medical fields of ophthalmology, dermatology, and endoscopy where the compact design makes them attractive for integration into such systems. In addition to their medical uses, the company notes that the lasers have been used in the entertainment industry. Other suitable applications for the lasers include illumination, pumping of Ti:Sapphire lasers, and spectroscopy.
