JDSU’s new L4 platform is a powerful fibre-coupled diode laser solution. The new telecom-grade solution benefits from an innovative chip design that generates 10W output power. Its packaging takes up less space compared to previous designs, enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to pack more diode lasers into a smaller space within their systems.
The diode lasers are designed for use in a broad range of industrial, medical and dental applications, including fibre laser pumping, material processing, and dental soft tissue surgery.
The laser power can be delivered via a fibre with a numerical aperture of 0.22 or 0.15 to provide a finely focused laser beam. The platform is available with output wavelengths ranging from 910-980nm.
