Laser Quantum celebrates 20th anniversary

Laser Quantum is delighted to be celebrating its 20th anniversary.  Since its formation in 1994 by PhD Physicists from the University of Manchester, Laser Quantum has developed into a successful company with over 100 staff in 3 offices in different countries, plus supported distributors in 36 others.

Laser Quantum originated as a manufacturer of powerful and robust continuous wave lasers, and has been honoured with 3 Department of Trade and Industry Smart Awards.

In 2012, Laser Quantum diversified into the femtosecond laser arena with the purchase of Gigaoptics GmbH; a market leader in Ti:Sapphire GHz femtosecond lasers and oscillators. Also in 2012, Laser Quantum received the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade, a prestigious accolade recognising the company’s significant and sustainable growth in exports over a three year period, together with responsible policies to support the local economy and environment.

In 2013, office staff at their Headquarters in Stockport in the UK, moved to larger premises allowing them to increase the strength of their team in order to respond to the growing demand for their products and services. Two production facilities in Stockport also underwent a refurbishment programme to include a larger newly renovated and customised laboratory space.

More recently, Laser Quantum has announced the purchase of Venteon Laser Technologies GmbH, a world leading manufacturer of few-cycle, ultra-short pulse lasers. The addition of Venteon technology to the existing range of CW and GHz lasers allows Laser Quantum to further develop this highly demanding area of photonics and strengthen its position in the ultrafast market.

Laser Quantum’s achievements and continual growth would not be possible without their customer loyalty and dedicated staff, to which they are eternally grateful.  Laser Quantum will maintain its passion for innovative laser technology and its flexibility in working with individual needs for many years to come.
