Optek has released its OUE8A series of ultraviolet UV LEDs in the UV-A spectrum, capable of uniform optical light patterns over an extended temperature range. The LEDs are offered in a variety of wavelengths, and sold housed in hermetic TO-46 metal canister.
The company claims that the UV LEDs are a step forwards in terms of environmental protection, as they eliminate the hazard associated with traditional mercury UV lamps.
The UV LEDs are ideal for medical and industrial applications including phototherapy treatment, dental applications, fluorescence and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, photo-catalyst curing of inks, coatings and adhesives, and for paper currency and document validation.
