Primes has introduced the PowerMeasuringModule (PMM), a laser power measuring device developed specifically for the automotive industry. The device measures power as it arrives the workpiece, and makes data available via a Profibus interface.
Primes worked with the automotive industry to ensure the device met the demanding requirements, such as being able to operate in a dirty environment. It operates in a typical power range of 400 to 8000W, and is self-cooling even under maximum optical power load. It offers fast measurement, including reduced rise time and thermalisation, and is adaptable to current and future laser beam sources, including high power disk, fibre and diode lasers.
