Roof Mirror

As an alternative to either roof prisms or Porro prisms, Laser Components has introduced the Roof Mirror, two first-surface mirrors assembled to form a 90° corner with great accuracy. The new mirrors can be coated for optimisation over a defined spectral range, from UV to the far infrared.

Unlike roof or Porro prisms, the optical path for the new Roof Mirror is in air, eliminating material absorption, chromatic aberration, and refraction or reflection from the prism front surface. The Roof Mirror is insensitive to tilt or misalignment in one coordinate, and the direction of the reflected beam does not change when the part is rotated around the ‘roofline’.

All Roof Mirrors are assembled in lightweight aluminium housing for protection and ease of handling, and are compatible with most major mounting systems.
