Thermal imaging protection filter

Artemis Optical has launched a new thermal imaging protection filter to counter the growing threat of thermal camera systems being disabled by long wave infrared lasers.

The new thermal imaging protection filter blocks infrared lasers to the extent where camera detectors can be protected, whilst still allowing enough infrared energy through the optic to ensure standard camera operation.

The filter took over four years to develop and has been in production for the past 18 months following a contract to supply defence vehicle applications. Artemis Optical has over 60 years’ experience in the design, development and application of high precision, technically differentiated, optical thin film coatings.
