VOC-detector

IRnova has launched a VOC-detector based on its new Type II Super Lattice (T2SL) technology.

The 320 x 256 detector has its spectral response band located around 3.30μm to meet requirements from customers developing systems for detection and direct imaging of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), such as methane gas emission monitoring in petrochemical industry and from pipelines.

The device is based on a similar detector assembly design as IRnova’s current Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector (QWIP) for sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), which makes it straightforward to integrate into IR-cameras for manufacturers already using the latter.

IRnova can tailor the spectral response of the QWIP longwave detector as well as the T2SL midwave detector to meet requirements for detection and imaging of various gases. These detectors can be used in handheld, stationary and airborne camera systems.

Deliveries of the new detector will start in July 2014.
