Vortex Lens

Diffractive optical element company Holo/Or has announced further advances in the design and quality of its Vortex lens product line.

Produced using lithographic technologies, Holo/Or's diffractive Vortex lens can be used in applications ranging from astronomical telescopes to biological testing/molecular manipulation, and industrial applications such as high power laser metal cutting.

The Vortex lens receives a Gaussian beam input and converts this into a ring or donut-shaped focal spot profile. In addition to the standard Vortex product line, Holo/Or can produce the focal ring size the customer demands, as well as customising the size of the central hole. For customers interested in a higher angular moment or topological charge, this can also be achieved by Holo/Or.
