XSR Extreme

XSR Xtreme optical fibre assemblies for spectroscopy from Ocean Optics provide enhanced UV transmission (up to 180nm), and are resistant to UV degradation. Ideal for deep-UV (<300nm) applications, they connect to Ocean Optics spectrometers and accessories via SMA 905 Connectors.

The assemblies are available in core diameters of 235μm and 455μm, and in standard lengths of 25cm, 1m and 2m. Custom lengths are also available; shorter length assemblies are recommended for applications requiring maximum UV throughput. A 6-around-1 reflection probe version is available for reflection and fluorescence from solid surfaces, or backscattering and fluorescence in liquids and powders.

The XSR assemblies have higher resistance to UV radiation with a wavelength below 300nm that typically degrades transmission in standard silica fibre, resulting in increased light absorption in the UV fibre that blocks transmission and can invalidate data.

XSR assemblies are robust and durable; each assembly has aluminium coating, stainless-steel BX jacketing, and high-quality SMA 905 Connectors.
