New company Resolution Spectra Systems has introduced its first product, the Zoom Spectra. The hand-held spectrometer claims to have a resolution 100 times superior to existing mini-spectrometers on the market.
A combination of compact size, high-performance and usability were factors that led to the product winning the Photon d’Or prize at the international Opto trade fair in Paris, in October last year. The product’s ease of use is considered by its developers to be one of its key features and is one that could open up hi-res spectrometer use to a wide range of mainstream applications that were previously reserved for specialist technicians.
