Aerotech UK relocates to larger facility

Aerotech has relocated its UK subsidiary to a larger facility in Ramsdell near Tadley. The new 500m2 building will not only allow Aerotech to build upon its position as a motion system supplier to the UK and Europe, but will benefit the company's ongoing projects with UK research institutions.

Aerotech is based in Pittsburgh, USA and works with industrial manufacturers and research institutions, building precision mechanics, motion controls and drive electronics as integrated electromechanical subsystems that allow customers to develop their own core manufacturing technologies. From the UK, Aerotech has partnerships with universities and manufacturers for the production, test or research of high-technology equipment in semiconductor, electronics, medical, military and laser processing industries.

Aerotech has a long-time association with the Cranfield University's Precision Engineering department, and is currently working with them on an EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Ultra Precision project. This project aims to develop a Meso Scale platform - a compact sized micro-factory capable of subtractive and additive technologies including diamond micromachining, energy beam and print processes.

Signaling the beginning of an exciting new phase for the UK subsidiary, Aerotech CEO Mark Botos commented: ‘The new facility, with its modern training and demonstration capability, will help to further our ability to advance the markets we serve by supporting OEMs and end users in industrial, governmental and educational markets world-wide.’
